For Publishers
PointBooks will work with publishers and writers to
convert their digital copies of books into formats for portable electronic reading devices
for sale in the Internet.
The working approach with publishers would take 2
stages:
- The 1st Stage is selecting a couple of books and submitting PDF
files containing the book covers, tables of contents and several pages to PointBooks. We will format and
generate samples in a portable electronic reading device for the publishers/writers to
view and compare with the printed version. If publishers/writers like the comparison, we
move to the 2nd Stage.
The 2nd Stage involves negotiating the
conditions under which PointBooks will digitize publishers'/writers' collection in the
respective formats and make it available for retail sales from the PointBooks website. We
intend to give publishers no less of a margin on publications than they are already
receiving. We will pay a flat-scale for every book sold and royalty will be paid to
publishers on a monthly basis. The savings from traditional printing, retail and
distribution will be shared with consumers as a discount from buying through
PointBooks.
